“Inspired by illustrations and public steelworks from the 1960s and 70s, Mid-century Mobile captures a sense of childhood whimsy and fun through a visual flow of color, line, and shape. The dynamic, harmonious network of curved and straight lines reflects our community connections and provides a structure for several unique shapes that strengthen the feel of unity present. Paired with a lively, bright color scheme featuring yellow, orange, and several shades of green and blue, the energy of this piece is cheerful, imaginative, and playful, which invites inquiry and creativity.”

Mid-century Mobile was constructed in 2023 and installed in front of the Sims Art Building and Porter Center at Brevard College from May of 2023 to July of 2024; it currently resides at the artist's home in Clinton, SC.
